This recording was conducted in Engineering Building II (now Christina Koch Hall) on the Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, as part of the Department of Computer Science 50th Anniversary alumni hall of fame reception. Gerhard Pilcher discusses his experience as a graduate of the class of 1985 (B.S., Computer Science) and in 2011 (M.S., Advanced Analytics), mentorship from Professors Alan Tharp and Robert Fornaro, renewed engagement with the Department of Computer Science through Ken Tate, founding the Henry B. Rowe, Jr. Scholarship Endowment in honor of his father in law, a 1941 graduate of NC State, and advice for future leaders in computer science.
