Description:
This recording was conducted in the Talley Student Union on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the NCSU GLBT Center’s 2017 Lavender Graduation. In the recording, Emily Olynick (‘16) discusses: finding the GLBT Center later in her time as a student; attending Catholic school growing up; not knowing anyone who was openly GLBT until coming to NC State; the challenge of coming out; finding support within the GLBT community and from GLBT Center Director Renee Wells; attending the NC Pride Parade and Festival in 2015; finding her closest friends through the GLBT Center; and returning as an alum to watch friends graduate in Lavender Graduation 2017.
