Description:
This recording was conducted as part of FLE 400: American English pronunciation for International Students with Professor Mary Michaels Estrada in October 2018, in the D.H. Hill Jr. Library. Both from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Thuy Ngoc Huynh and Vy Nguyen share their love for N.C. State. Huynh, who studies Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems, works as a career coach at the Career Center on campus, finds pride in helping her classmates, and loves the emphasis the school places on professional practice. Nguyen, who is undecided as to what she will major in, fell in love with State immediately, and finds ways to involve herself as much as she can on campus and meet new people. Both emphasize how welcoming campus felt as international students, despite college life and the language barrier being an adjustment. Both say that they miss the food in Vietnam, but have “found their pack” at State.
