- Wolf Tales recording with Bob Schmidt and Matthew Champagne: NCSU GLBT Center's 2018 Lavender Graduation, 24 April 2018
- Description:
- This recording was conducted in the Talley Student Union on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the NCSU GLBT Center's 2018 Lavender Graduation. Bob Schmidt (Class of 1995) and Matthew Champagne (Class of 2022) interview each other during the recording. Bob Schmidt reveals his experiences receiving a diagnosis with Attention Deficit Disorder as an undergraduate, and subsequent increase in grades with help from professor Edith Berkoff. Schmidt also recounts his experiences volunteering as an orientation counsellor, taking acting classes at Thompson Theater, and pursuing recreational activities. Schmidt shares his experiences growing up without many GLBT role models during the ‘90s; and the coming out process he experienced after college in the wider Raleigh community. Champagne discusses his experience moving from New York to Raleigh, differences in GLBT communities throughout the East Coast, and the depth of GLBT community he has encountered in Raleigh.
