- Title:
- Evaluation and Introduction of Soil Organic Matter Determination to FSL (Forest Science Laboratory Soils Group, Research Report No. 15)
- Description:
- Several of the more popular procedures for soil organic matter (OM) determination were investigated and compared. A wet oxidation based soil organic matter determination was then introduced to FSL and incorporated into our analytical services. The wet oxidation procedure is a modification of the time-honored Walkley-Black procedure (8), and consists of titrimetric standardization followed by the colorimetric determination of unknown samples.
