Eight years following fertilization there was no significant growth stimulation from the addition of four phosphate fertilizers (super phosphate, triple superphosphate, rock phosphate and acidulated phosphate) at elemental phosphorus (P) rates of 25 and 50 pounds per acre (lbs./A). The application of phosphorus below ground did not stimulate competing vegetation.
