Title:
Nitrogen Application to Thinned 15-Year Old Loblolly Pine Plantations 4th Year Results, 1979 (Charlottesville Research Center Research Report No. 68)
Description:
Analysis of four-year data indicates that 100 and 150 pounds per acre of elemental nitrogen (N) increased total volume production 9.9% and 9.2%, respectively, over the check: basal area growth increased 17.4% and 16.8%, respectively, over the unfertilized check. The unthinned plots have produced more total volume than the thinned plots for this period into the rotation. The younger plantation (18-year-old) has significantly less volume than the other two (20-year old plantations).
