Title:
Third Year Results of N and P Factorial in 10-Year Old Loblolly Pine Plantation Study, 1973 (Charlottesville Research Center Research Report No. 50)
Description:
Nitrogen fertilizer at 150 pounds per acre (lbs./acre) produced a significant growth response in an 11-year old un-thinned loblolly pine stand the second and third year after fertilization. Application of 300 lbs./acre N failed to stimulate growth more than the 150 lbs./acre rate, and snow damage was severe in the higher rate. Phosphorus application at rates of 100 and 200 lbs./acre alone and in combination with the nitrogen rates did not stimulate growth more than nitrogen alone at the 150 lbs./acre rate.
