North Carolina State Forest Nutrition Cooperative Pine Productivity Study: Regionwide-7; Four Year Results at Central, 1985 (Central Forest Research Center Research Report No. 18)
Description:
The effect of site preparation, competition control, and fertilization on the survival and growth of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) through age four is reported. The study was established in 1979 on a sheared and raked site in the Big Sandy Unit of Central Woodlands, Benton County, Tennessee. The area is characterized by rolling topography and rocky, cherty silt loam soils of the Mountview, Lax, and Bodine series. Disking, fertilization (250 lbs DAP/ac), herbicide (Velpar L ½ lb a.i./ac), and combinations of these were the treatments.
