Title:
Variation of Applied Urea and DAP by Helicopter, 2006 (TM-06-2)
Description:
Ten loblolly pine stands spanning two districts in the Charleston Forest were monitored to characterize variation in the distribution of operationally applied urea and diammonium phosphate fertilizer. Because urea and DAP are applied in separate applications, the within-stand variation in N and P distribution can result in undesirable ratios of these two elements occurring within a setting. The exact tree response to the observed variability has not been quantified. As we progressively lower the rates on N and P being applied it will be even more important that applied distribution and amounts are accurate.
