- Two maps are provided with this report: 1) a soil map, and 2) a slope map overlay. These maps are intended to be used together as part of a geographic information system (GIS). Slopes greater than 25 percent can be identified using either map. Convex uplands with slopes less than 10 percent can only be identified if the slope map overlay is used. This approach takes advantage of GIS technology to provide maximum detail when needed.
