Title:
Fertilizer Packets and Pellets Applied in the Planting Hole with Loblolly Pine Seedlings (Westvaco Experimental Forest, Research Reprot No. 145)
Description:
Slow-release NPK fertilizer materials in packet and pellet form were applied in the planting slit with 1-0 loblolly seedlings. Both materials significantly reduced survival as well as barely stimulating height growth of surviving seedlings. Low survival and high cost of these individual tree treatment fertilizer forms indicate the other means of fertilizing seedlings should prove more attractive without the disadvantages herein noted.
