Title:
1974 Clone Screening Trials for Fertilizer Response in the Greenhouse (Summerville Research Center, Research Report No. 81)
Description:
Six open pollinated loblolly pine clones were investigated for possible differential growth response to fertilization in the Summerville greenhouse. In growth, the clones differed significantly from each other, with Clone 11-14 resulting in the largest overall dry weight yield on unfertilized soils while the “standard” 7-56 clone gave the largest overall yield on fertilized soils and the largest growth response to fertilization as well. All the clones tested responded similarly to fertilization on all the three soils investigated. The response differences among the clones were statistically not significant.
