Title:
Mapping of the Soil Phosphorous Levels in the South Carolina Coastal Plain (South Carolina Research Center, Research Report No. 10)
Description:
Areas that had been previously soil sampled were color coded according to three levels of available phosphorus in the soil onto small-scale maps. The maps showed that three areas, north of Summerville, S.C., west of Walterboro, S.C., and around Andrews, S.C., were generally low in P; and that the areas adjacent to the Edisto and Ashley Rivers were generally high in P. However, the variation from block to block was too great to allow for decisions on fertilization and the need for continued soil sampling was recognized.
