Title:
Influence of Drainage on Growth (South Carolina Research Center, Research Report No. 7)
Description:
Drainage will increase tree growth, but the degree of response will vary by soil type and productivity, species, and the amount of drainage imposed on the system. Adequate drainage is most important during stand establishment and early stand development. The amount of drainage necessary can be reduced with intensive site preparation (bedding) and fertilization, but drainage must be adequate to moderately drain the area before bedding and fertilization will have a beneficiel effect.
