Description:
This study was originally established to test three rates of phosphorus (0, 25, and 50 lbs. per acre) applied at planting to a bedded loblolly pine plantation on a poorly drained coastal plain site. At age 11 the main plots were split into 5 subplots which were treated as follows: maintain with no new treatment; thin with no additional fertilizer application; thin with application of phosphorus (P); thin with application of nitrogen (N); and thin with application of N plus P.
