Title:
Application of a Complete Fertilizer to a Five Year Old Loblolly Pine Plantation, 1975 (Charlottesville Research Center Research Report No. 59)
Description:
Volume growth in the plots treated with 100 pounds per acre (lbs./A) (112 kg/ha) of diammonium phosphate (DAP 100) was significantly better than the check and the 50 lbs./A (56kg/ha) of diammonium phosphate (DAP50), but was not significantly better than the 50N-50P-50K (56N-56P-56K kg/ha) and the 100N-50P-50K lbs./A (112N-56P-56K kg/ha) treatments at the 90% level. A ranking of the plots by volume at the time of fertilization and at the end of the three years following fertilization showed the DAP 100 plots moved from 1, 3, and 5 positions to the best in all three replications. Snow damage in the plots in the form of breakage and leaning was not correlated with the fertilizer treatments.
