- This interview for the Student Leadership Initiative was conducted in the D. H. Hill Library on the NC State campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. Harold Pettigrew was the Student Body President at NC State in 2000-2001. He graduated with a degree in political science in 2002. After leaving NC State, he earned a graduate degree from New York University in 2005, and then he served in various positions in city government in New York City and Washington, DC. At the time of the interview, he was the Director of the Department of Small and Local Business Development for the city of Washington, DC.
