Jordan III, a native of Mount Gilead, NC, is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he was elected Student Government Vice President, and served as the 29th Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina (1985-1989). He is a past member of the UNC Board of Governors and the NCSU Board of Trustees.
