This resource contains letters, reports, statements, and bills related to the USDA Plant Health Inspection Services’s regulation of the Animal Welfare Act. Material is especially focused on the regulation of animal welfare in air and surface transportation. It includes proposed revisions to the Animal Welfare Act, as well as informational material about standards of treatment and care for animals under the Act. It also includes information about laboratory animal standards and how to complete proper health checks. Many of the letters are written by Christine Stevens of the Animal Welfare Institute.
