- Larry K. Monteith was Head of the NC State Electrical Engineering Department (1974-1978), then Dean (1978-1990), and later served as NC State's Chancellor (1990-1998). In this interview he discusses the events behind and his involvement in establishing Centennial Campus, including the acquisition of property from the Dorothea Dix Hospital. Also discussed is building infrastructure for the Centennial Campus, bringing the College of Textiles to campus, the further moving of other departments and organizations, and the protocols for allowing and recruiting non-university groups to build there.
