- Title:
- Alma Mater lyrics (no longer used), N.C. State University, 1925
- Description:
- These are the former lyrics to NC State's alma mater song. In February 2022, the lyrics were modified by the university's Board of Trustees, removing the word "Dixie" and replacing it with "Southern" in the song's first line "Where the Southern winds so softly blow." A growing number of students, faculty, staff, and alumni expressed concerns about the use of "Dixie," and the change was supported unanimously by the Board.
