This is record is a letter written by North Carolina College Agricultural and Mechanical Arts student E. E. Lambeth to his father and dated November 7, 1891. Addressing the letter "Dear Pa," he asks if his father can send funds so he can pay for board, tuition, and other needs. He also mentions attending church, feeling unwell because he skipped dinner, and hoping his father would send apples because he craved fruit.
