Provenance note:: Patty Person Taylor, first owner.
Historical note:: Patty Person Taylor, first owner, was sister of Revolutionary leader Thomas Person. She bought the land from her brother in 1783, and married in 1785. She probably built the house soon afterward. The residence was constructed in the late eighteenth century, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Architectural note:: This five-bay Georgian plantation house is one of only a few homes in Franklin County with a center-passage plan. An original one-story rear ell extends from the main house.
