Provenance note:
The house was built for David and Sarah McCullers Stephenson, first owners. Their son, Matthew Stephenson, second owner, ran the plantation until his death. The property then passed to his brother, Leonidas Stephenson, third owner. George Stephenson, with several other family members, owns the 65 acre plantation as of 2015.
Historical note:
The plantation, built in the early to mid-nineteenth century, produced corn, cotton, sweet potatoes, wheat, and oats, and raised livestock.
