Provenance note:: Alonzo T. Mial (planter, commissioner, merchant), first owner.
Architectural note:: The gabled frame rests on granite piers. When Mial installed a steam engine in 1875, he enclosed the ground story.
Historical note:: The structure is one of the oldest cotton gins in the state, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
