- Provenance note:
- The house was built in the early nineteenth century for the Smithwick family (presumed first owners). In the late nineteenth century the house passed to John and Araminta Green, second owners.
- Architectural note:
- The structure is an example of an I-house with a center passage plan and double shouldered end chimneys. The dining ell was added to the rear in the early twentieth century.
