Building: Smith Hall -- Playmakers Theatre (Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina)

Architectural note:
The building's exterior remains intact, but the interior has been reworked to serve several functions over the years. Inspired by the column capitals at the United States Capitol, Alexander Jackson Davis's capitals feature corn and wheat rather than acanthus leaves.
Historical note:
The structure is one of Alexander Davis's principal surviving works in North Carolina. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a National Historical Landmark.
