Provenance note:
Jefferson and Harriet Keith White, first owners.
Architectural note:
The main house's notable features include porches with sawn and turned work, a comet motif, and a Masonic emblem in the gable. Family tradition lists a Mr. Campbell as the home's builder. The upper balconies were added in the 1890s.
Historical note:
The house's woodwork is considered some of the finest in the state, and the home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
