Historical note:
The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Provenance note:
Dr. Buckner Hill (planter and stockholder of the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad) and Anna Maria Ward Hill, first owners.
Architectural note:
The home features a unique plan, with two wide axial passages that intersect at the center, separating each of the four rooms. The hallways could function as interior porches when all four exterior doors were opened.
