- Provenance note:
- Traditions holds that the builder of the house was a Mr. Hines, probably William Hines or Enoch Hines, for Isham Faison (planter, postmaster, and railroad agent). The house was later home to Faison's niece, Mary Lyde Hicks Williams, an artist known for her depictions of plantation life.
