Provenance note:: The house was built for the founder of Shelby's first bank, Jesse Jenkins, and has been associated in later years with other banking families.
Architectural note:: Banker's House is thought to be one of the state's finest examples of the Second Empire style and is unusual as it is in brick.
Historical note:: This structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
