Provenance note:
Samuel Baldwin (farmer and Baptist minister) ran this mill on Terrell's Creek.
Architectural note:
The mill house is a large frame structure, and it stands atop a foundation of dry-laid stone similar to that of a nearby dam.
Historical note:
Along with a sawmill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, and a general store, the mill served this small rural community throughout the nineteenth century. In 1941, the mill was privately restored. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
