- Provenance note:
- The house is attributed to cabinetmaker Thomas Day and was built for Caleb Hazard Richmond and his wife Mary Dodson. Richmond was a native of Rhode Island and ran a foundry, sawmill, plow factory, and a plantation.
- Architectural note:
- The house is a typical example of the symmetrical Greek Revival style, with entrance portico and one-room deep center-passage plan.
- Historical note:
- The interior features woodwork representative of the style of cabinetmaker Thomas Day. Woodside is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
