- Provenance note:
- The original rear portion of the structure was built for congressman and legislator Bartlett Yancey and his wife Ann Graves. Upon their deaths, the home passed to daughter Ann and her husband Thomas Womack, who expanded the house.
- Architectural note:
- The older portion of the house is a 1 1/2-story hall-parlor plan, while the two-story newer section, added by Ann and Thomas Womack, is in the Greek Revival style. A law office, log barn, and family cemetery can also be found on the grounds.

- The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
