- Matthew Moore (landowner), first owner.
- Architectural note:
- The building is one of the few houses outside of Salem that displays rural Moravian and Quaker architectural traditions. The home was altered in the twentieth century.

- Alabama governor Gabriel Moore spent his childhood here. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
