Provenance note:
Thomas and Penelope Barker, first owner; Augustus and Susan Moore, nineteenth century owner
Architectural note:
The home was enlarged and the piazza added in the early nineteenth century.
Historical note:
The house was moved to its present location from the 200 block of Broad Street in 1952. Penelope Barker achieved fame from her organization of the Edenton Tea Party in the Revolutionary War era. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
