- Architectural note:
- The home features an unusual plan that combines the urban side-passage and regional four-room plans. The building's interior ornamentation came from Owen Biddle's "Young Carpenter's Assistant."
- Historical note:
- The house was moved to its present location in 1913. The home provides the only accessible example of the Federal style interiors once popular with Rowan County's elite, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
