Architectural note:
The building features traditional Germanic elements such as exposed beams, herringbone-pattern batten doors, and fine ironwork.
Historical note:
The house is the oldest brick building in Wachovia and one of the oldest in the Piedmont. The home is located within Bethabara, which is designated a National Historic Landmark District and listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.
