Historical note:
Saint Paul's Episcopal Church Wilkesboro, North Carolina, constructed 1848-1849 stands atop a high hill overlooking the town of Wilkesboro to the south and the Yadkin River to the north. The site was given by Samuel Finley Patterson. D. Dameron took the contract for erecting the building. William Gries also acted as the minister of the church. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Architectural note:
The building is one of a very few Gothic Revival antebellum churches in western North Carolina.
