Provenance note:
Thomas Ruffin (state supreme court chief justice), first owner
Historical note:
The building was constructed around the early nineteenth century. The law office later became an outbuilding on the Burnside property, which was the home of daughter Anne Ruffin and her husband Paul Cameron, lawyer and agriculturist.
