The title on the first typeset page following the pages of cartoons state the book is "Bergh's War on Vested Cruelty." The volume was housed with volumes 2-8 of "Bergh's War on Vested Cruelty," suggesting "Introduction General History of the Society, First Part" is synonymous with Volume 1 of "Bergh's War on Vested Cruelty. "
