Built Heritage: A partnership of the North Carolina State University Libraries and Preservation North Carolina to create an online resource for the study of the state’s architectural history. Included are 8,100 measured drawings, photographic prints, and slides, which provide access to documentation on hundreds of buildings and structures in North Carolina dating from the 1700s to the early 1900s.

- Historical note:
- Many of the buildings at Fort Caswell were constructed in the 1890s. In the late 1930s to early 1940s, an attempt was made to turn the fort into a resort. It was, however, unsuccessful.
