Built Heritage: A partnership of the North Carolina State University Libraries and Preservation North Carolina to create an online resource for the study of the state’s architectural history. Included are 8,100 measured drawings, photographic prints, and slides, which provide access to documentation on hundreds of buildings and structures in North Carolina dating from the 1700s to the early 1900s.

- General Thomas Brown, first owner.
- Architectural note:
- The home utilized an unusual plan that consisted of a one room deep layout with both an off center passage and a lateral passage along the front.
- Historical note:
- The home was constructed in the late eighteenth century. The building is one of the few remaining Cape Fear plantations, which were once commonplace along the river, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
