Typed on verso: Hello everybody, says Woodrow Darnell, tenant farmer, on Mr. J. R. Miller's farm near Pineville. Mr. Darnell had a hard year last year like most Mecklenburg county farmers, but he is starting out with renewed interest in 1937. He is shown here on April 1, putting his hand to the plow saying, "Much obliged" to the growth of hairy vetch that he is turning under.
