April 12-18 -- The 50th National 4-H Conference here at the National 4-H Center involved 600 alumni and provided a forum for more than 300 4-H members, leaders and staff from across the nation to have a voice in future 4-H programs. To help celebrate this golden anniversary, 4-H alumni who had attended previous conferences and camps joined delgates for a Friends of 4-H program on Thursday and Friday. Events included an historical pagent, a visit to the White House where President Jimmy Carter greeted delegates, visits to Capitol Hill, the Department of Agriculture and intensive workshop sessions on contemporary topics.
