- Description:
- In 1972 Phillips was one of the most capable pitchers on the staff. He had a 3-2 record and a 1.98 ERA. His best asset was control, working forty-one innings and allowing only twelve walks. The year 1973 proved even better when he struck out twenty and walked thirteen in thirty innings of relief pitching, earning a 0.79 ERA.
