Robin Murphy Williams

Robin Murphy Williams was elected as Vice-President of the Student Body at North Carolina State University in the spring of 1932. The election was hotly contested, and nearly the entire student body turned out to vote: Williams was made vice president after losing the race for president to Mark K. Wilson.

Years at State

Student Government Vice President, 1932-1933

Class of 1933

Accomplishments

Punishments that the Student Council meted out to students were rather light during Williams’ term, especially the example of two students who were found guilty of being intoxicated in a dorm room, discharging firearms in the same dorm room, and causing willful damage and destruction of college property. Their sentence was a total of three terms suspension, at which point they were allowed to return to classes.
