- Biographical Note:
- Robert D. Beam graduated from NC State College in 1926 with a degree in civil engineering. As a student he was very active in campus activities. Beam returned to NCSU as Director of Foundations and as a public relations officer ca. 1945. He later resigned his position to join the First Federal Savings and Loan Association. While with NC State, Beam was a member of various professional organizations, including the State College Foundation.
