- Biographical Note:
- When Dr. Malcolm Campbell (1902-1978) was appointed Dean of the NCSU School of Textiles in 1943, the program had 9 instructors and 300 students. Under his guidance the program became a "prestigious school recognized worldwide as one of the finest training grounds for the textile industry." Campbell retired in 1967.
